Bilberry Bumblebee (Bombus monticola) - A species of Bumblebee found mainly on moorlands, recognisable by its red tail and heart shaped abdomen covered in red hairs. The Queens favour moorland and can be seen feeding on Bilberry. Workers and males are similarly coloured but smaller. The Bilberry Bumblebee has been seen in recent years on the Llantysilio mountains and in the Clwydian Range. |
