Merlin (Falco columbarius) are very rarely seen on the Llantysilio mountains and in the Clwydian Range. They are a bird of prey which grows up to 13 inches long with a wing span of 27 inches. The UK is the mildest part of their breeding range. Look out for the males blue-grey back and orange tinted underparts, or the juvenile and females dark brown above with white and brown spotted underparts. |
