Illegal off-road operation – bike seizures Print E-mail
Heather and Hillforts staff joined forces with North Wales Police, CCW and Forestry Commission officers on Sunday January 30th to carry out the first illegal off-road vehicle operation of 2011.

The day proved very successful, 5 bikes received section 59 notices having strayed from the legal route near Cynwyd. These riders stand to have their bike seized if they are caught straying from legal routes in the future. Later in the afternoon 3 bikes were seized by Police at Nantyr. The bikes were being ridden without Tax, MOT and insurance on the county road between Glyndyfrdwy and Nantyr. The 3 riders now face the prospect of penalty points on their licenses and heavy fines, as well as the loss of their bikes.

We will be involved in more operations throughout the year, hoping to catch and prosecute those people intent of damaging the uplands, and offering advice to those who are keen to ride or drive legally.
