The weather is finally on our side. Its dry and the wind has finally settled.
The day was spent finishing off cleaning up the site so that they can start digging into the archaeology on Sunday.

In the afternoon I brought up the Heather and Hillforts archaeology group to visit Ian and Sophie. Ian showed the group the excavation and explained that the signs were promising – pointing out a dark circle which may show the edge of the mound. The only finds we have at the moment are bits of clay pipe which probably relate to the robbers’ trench in the centre and glass which has probably been left by walkers in the past.
