The morning is very wet which means Ian and Sophie have to endure another hard morning battling the elements and the make shift tent is back!

Although progress is slow they are doing well digging through more of the artificial material which makes up the mound. This has exposed a dark layer which is the remnants of the vegetation layer that the mound was built on top of. This just helps to confirm further that the mound is artificial. It would be great if we could find something to date the mound to the Bronze Age.
